My Christmas wish is a C6 Head and Cam sticky....a thread with just facts, and dyno sheets...empirical data....No pissing matches.

Default G5x3 cam, cometic .040 gaskets, stock heads

It's a worthy thread. I'll go ahead and start, let's see if it gets legs.

My cam is an older design and has been in the car for 3.5 years now.

We need a format. I'll start with this, from air cleaner to exhaust, noting gears/drivetrain mods as appropriate.

Vararam
Spinmonster ported FAST 92
Stock heads
Cometic .040 gaskets, 11.4 compression
LG G5x3 cam
American racing headers w/cats
stock mufflers with cutouts
Underdrive pulley
stock flywheel & clutch
3.90 gears in dyno sheets (4.10's now)

Car is daily driver and drives well, but I took a fair amount of time self-tuning it to make it docile around town.

Mileage loss has been tracked since new; 1.0 mpg loss for gears, 1.68 mpg loss from cam, to average of 18 combined, primarily city driving.

This Dyno sheet shows before and after FAST.



This Dyno sheet shows stock, bolt ons only, and bolt ons + cam & ported stock intake.

I think if you want to keep pissing matches out of it then you list specs only and not who's cam it is. Cam's are not magic, they have set characteristics. Some shops wont list specs as this is a copycat industry, you cant blame them. They put the hard work into it only to have someone come along and start pimping "their" version of it.
