Default Sprint Booster, Cold and DIC Message

I have a 2007 Man. w/z51 package. I had it out about a month ago and no DIC codes. I go out today just to keep things lubed and I suddenly get a "Reduced Engine Power" DIC message along with the engine light. Back in July of this year I installed a Sprint Booster in the pedal assembly. That's the only thing I've changed and funny that all of a sudden I'm getting this error code. so at this point I'm not sure if it's a throttle response or sensor issue. I haven't had the code (s) pulled yet so it will be interesting to see what comes up. In the meantime has anyone had any issuesd with the Sprint Booster acting up in very cold weather. I'm wondering if the temperature has something to do with the Sprint Booster sending signals that are not syncing with the throttle body and air bridge. I've checked the tire pressures having read that sometimes a low tire pressure might send a signal via the TPMS that a tire is low and hence it triggers the Active Handling system. Unless a bad sensor all seems OK there. Car has been garage kept since day 1 and only has 4000k. I thought I'd try and remove the Sprint Booster and reconnect as was original and see if that takes care of it. Any thoughts, ideas or similar experiences would be appreciated! Happy Holidays to All!

I've got a Sprint Booster and it's been working great for me for almost a year now.

But....living in Florida it hasn't seen temps below about 28 degrees!! I was just out tonight and it was working fine, but the temp display only showed about 37 degrees.

On my Z06 I had a Reduced Power message after splicing a wire into the APP sensor to get a throttle position input into my Traqmate data-logger. I can't remember what the code was, but I cleared it, disconnected the battery for a couple minutes, and it went away and never came back.

I'd be interested to see what code might show up. It does sound like it could very well be a throttle issue, but I don't know why the Sprint Booster would create a problem if it hasn't had any problems up until now.

If you do disconnect the battery, you should only need to re-index the windows when you hook it back up.

Good luck, and let us know what code was thrown.

Let us know the code. Interested to see if it is the P0101 or P0121.

Just an update. Today I disconnected the Sprint Booster and voila! No DIC "Reduced Engine Power" message. All that remains is the CEL. I bought a code reader also and will see if any of the codes were saved (and to erase the CEL). Just a quick question: when checking the codes the scanner instructions require I put the vehicle ignition in the "On" position. Is that our Accessory position? Instructions specifically say not to start he car. Many thanks,

Just click the start button once without starting. Not sure if it is accessory or "on" position but you should be in a power up condition with headlights, heat/ac, gauges, etc.

There are 2 ways to put a manual transmission in the "engine run mode".

The official way is to push and hold the bottom of the ignition switch for about 5 seconds or so and you'll be in the ignition on mode without the engine running.

Another way is to do not push in the clutch while pushing the top of the switch as you would to normally start the car. I recommend you have it in neutral in case the clutch switch doesn't work and the car does start!!
