So I bought the spoiler on here for a good price and looking to get it put on the right way with nuts and bolts. I am having ahard time finding out if there is an install kit if so where do I purchase such an item? I wnt to the dealer and had no luck. I understand it should have studs and nuts and a template. Any help would be great
It comes with everything you will need.
The instructions will state to remove the two inner tail lights. To make life easier, remove all 4. The two outer bolts will be a lot easier to tighten. It takes about another 30 seconds to remove all 4.
Once you remove the original spoiler, you will remove the studs from it and reuse. The spoiler comes with all the other hardware you will need to secure properly.
Template is not exact. I laid template on car and lined up the two inner bolts with the existing holes. Then laid the new spoiler on top and lined everything up and marked the template exactly where the other bolts needed to go.
Drilled holes and they were perfect.
Good luck.
Hardest thing in the world is to drill holes in the back of a vette.
My spoiler did not come with anything other then spoiler itself.
I ordered mine from GM Parts House. It was a GM part #. Came in a double box, spoiler was in a sock for scratch protection, and there was a bag of hardware and template.

First the obvious, are you sure?
Go back to the dealer and have him order an install kit or the individual nuts and studs from a parts breakdown. I could lend you the template.
The template and spoiler may not be exact but that's how you should proceed.
Who did you purchase the spoiler from?
Was it new or a used one?
Definetly should have included everything. Dealer may be right - there is no kit since it comes with the spoiler.
I installed mine on my 2011 Grand sport. I refused to drill the extra holes. The spoiler has 3M tape on both ends and in one area in the center of each span. I cleaned the paint well with alcohol and i have had ZERO issues with it coming loose.
The most difficult part that I saw was connecting the brake light connector to the brake light and getting it to fit on the origional hole using the new spoiler. I had to trim some of the plastic bumper back flush with the edge of the hole. (approx 1/8") and the plug fit into the hole a bit easier. (NOTE: The part that I trimmed is NOT visable with either spoiler installed. )
Yeah the body shop said they dont get how the stock 3rd light fits or is even removed. I have yet to go over and look at it. The car is getting a full GS wide body installed.
3rd light unbolts from underneath. On my original - there were 2 studs and nuts that the light was held in place with. New one comes with screws to hold it into the new one. Don't know why they can't figure this one out. It was obvious on mine.
The light connector is a royal pain but it will fit. You can line the spoiler up where is ready to drop in and you can pop the plug on the light then slide it in.
Like I stated earlier,, I had to trim a little bit of the plastic at the forward part of the opening to allow the plug to fit properly. Just make sure that you radius the corners of the part that you trim so that it doesn't form a crack later.

Find a different body shop. If a recovering sales guy like me could figure it, I would move to another shop.

Please dont get me anymore fired up. Im already on the verge of blowing the place up.
Seriously though ive had the worst luck since my off road adventure in October. The car has been at the body shop over two months. Part delays and good ol feet dragging have put me over the edge.
I got my CF ZR1 Spoiler from Gene Culley at GM Parts House (Forum vendor) and it came with all mounting hardware and a template. The advantage of dealing with Gene on these issues is that YOU don't have to know ahead of time what parts are necessary for a complete install--GENE does, and IMO, nobody does it better. I think I can speak with certainty about that because I had Gene's shop provide/install/paint an entire ZR1 body conversion on my Z51 Coupe--the first of many to follow.
If you're looking for someone in the Baltimore area to install the spoiler, try Win Kelly Chevrolet in Clarksville (Howard County), or Criswell Chevrolet in Gaithersburg. Forget the Baltimore Metro area--they're clueless.
I put on the Z06 painted spoiler on my base coupe and had the same problem of getting the light connector back in. Got the Dremel out, trimmed up the opening a little and it went right in. I likey.
