Key FOB Problem or Something else?
Back on 12/03/2010 my wife took the Corvette to work and she left for lunch and the fob unlocked the car and all was fine.when she came out from lunch the fob would not unlock the doors.luckily she was right next to the dealer and they had a replacement battery,stuck it in and all was fine again.Now last night 1/15/2011 we were out and made several stops but when we got ready to leave to go home ..you guessed it,the fob would not unlock the doors. I go back inside the mall and buy another battery from radio shack and go back out.Again it will not let me in the car.so I unlock the trunk w/the key pull the latch to unlock the door,set off the alarm and all. Tried to start it up knowing it wouldn't and it gives me the no key fob detected.after about 10 times of taking the battery out and putting it back in ,it finally recognized the fob and let us fire it up. Is this a Key fob going bad or something else?

If I read the manual correctly, if you place the fob in the slot in the glove box, the car should start even with a bad fob battery. It says the buttons on the fob should face the passenger side of the car.

Have you tried your 2nd fob, is it working correctly? Once you get into the car, as pointed out, use the glove box slot to start the car. Since the car eventually started it sounds more like a problem with the contacts in your fob. I would be sure those are clean and making contact with the battery.
