I'm considering Melrose for my daily driver...

Have you guys had any issue with corrosion/rust? I've read that some coated headers still rusted...and/or needed routine polishing to inhibit the rust.

My melrose headers have some rust on them, but thats what your gonna get with steel headers. It doesn't bother me.

I bought Melrose Headers for my '09, but due to cold weather, I haven't installed them yet.

Here are my current pre-install thoughts:

The guys at Melrose Motorsports were very professional and polite on the phone.
Delivery open box visual inspection revealed a very smooth and consistant ceramic coating.

The poster above was correct, chromemoly headers are lighter then ss headers.
Stainless headers move more heat out of the engine compartment then plain headers, but are more prone to weld cracks, especially after many heat cycles.
Chromemoly headers weld easier, but are prone to corrosion.

Ceramic coatings move even more heat than ss, leading to a cooler engine compartment. Ceramic coatings protect chromemoly from corrosion.

In conclusion: Ceramic coated chromemoly headers = bee's knees, cat's meow, best of both words, etc.

Wow they look brand new Z06Ronald! Your car's underside looks quite a bit better than mine (mine's a daily driver except in winter). Do you drive yours daily and/or in the rain?
