Default Header question

I'm thinking about buying a set of XS Power headers and installing them myself. My questions are if I do the install myself is it ok to drive around 150 miles without a tune to ECS for them to do the tune there? I guess I should call ECS to see about them actually doing the install but does anyone know offhand what they charge to install headers and are they ok with installing headers that aren't purchased from them. I just can't justify paying an extra $1k for almost the exact product for LG's or AR. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Driving there won't hurt anything. You might trigger a CEL, but they can turn it off.

I plan to do the same thing, but I didn't think XS Power had C6 headers available yet (still working on fitment issues?).
Maybe that's just for the catted version?

There is a C6 set ready. It's on their website. I would probably just do the install my self and save a few hundred. I just found the headers last night and need to find out if I need O2 sensor wire extensions. I didn't look too hard at the headers and x-pipe last night so I'm not sure if there is cats. I keep my car registered in AL so no smog test for me.

I did this install on jack stands. I sent you a PM. You will be fine without a tune. You most like;ly will NOT even set a DTC!

We would be happy to do the install for you but I dont see any reason you cant do this yourself if you are up for it. If you have any questions during the install feel free to give me a call and I can help you through it. You will have no issues driving up here for a tune either when you are done...

Gunterwalker, With all due respect, why risk the possibility of bad fitment and (for sure) poor quality S/S on price alone. There's a reason why they cost what they do besides the fact they're made in China. The headers you're planning on buying are knock offs of someone elses hard work. In this case it's ours. On quite a few occasions we've seen where a hammer is needed to make them fit. They're also prone to cracking. Customer service...non existant.

If none of this matter to you then by all means invest your money how you like. Good luck with your decision and enjoy your ride.
