Passenger Airbag Sensor

The Chick-fil-a in my area is doing a "Daddy and Daughter" date night on Saturday and I was going to take my daughter that is almost 3. She really wants to go in the vette, but the 07s do not have the key in the glove box to turn off the passenger airbag like my old one did. She is about 30lbs plus the weight of car seat. I read that the airbag sensor checks both the pressure on the seat and the tightness of the seatbelt. I have not tried yet, but I am thinking that the airbag will stay on due to how tight the seat belt has to be on the car seat and the combined weight of my daughter and carseat. Is there any easy way to keep it off?

Ive run a car seat in my 07 many times and the weight over rides any measuring of seat belt tension. The air bag stayed off entire time. My daughter is 2. Have fun at chick fi la.

The airbag sensor worked and the airbag stayed off. My daughter was very excited to go riding in the vette.

Ha! Negative on the boyfriend. I feel sorry for the poor soul that is her first date.
