Default Exhaust Modifications for C6

Just bought a 2007 C6. My exhaust is a little quite for my taste. Any suggestions on a mod?

There are a few choices to choose from, it all depends on what you want. For a louder exhaust and everybody has there own comfort level with what is loud and what is not. You can go to the Corsa, B&B, Borla, SLP, and magnaflow to see what you would like.

If you want a little more performance as well and you don't need to worry about smog checks, then maybe some headers would be a better fit for you.

There also the NPP, or Z06 version of the dual mode exhaust systems. You would just need a control system to run it like NPP in a box and it can be quite and loud when you want it to be.

I took off my NPP and went with a full Z06 set up with modded mufflers so I can still pass smog. That with a tune was good for 20rwhp and around 15rwtq.

I was actually going to put that a lot of folks on here would recommend Corsa, not only for the sound but also the low amount of drone.

Anything you do will be expensive. I tried multiple exhaust setups which all drone at 1700-1900 rpm. The Corsa is great without any drone which all the others have, I'm told.

The best in my opinion is the setup I have now. I had a set of Z06 mufflers (with the muffler mod done) installed by FasterProms speed shop with the Mild to Wild switch by "Red Lion" vendor. I have long tube headers "WITH" the cats although they are hi-flo versions. Without cats your exhaust will smell horrible.

Now I have quiet and beast at the flip of a switch. My wife even approves.

Headers can run 1K-2K with a tune and install plus the mufflers will set you back another 600-800 with the install. A muffler shop will have to install these because the mufflers will be welded up to your over the axle pipes.

The for sale section has someone selling a complate Z06 system pretty cheap. But some new gaskets, I also ceramic coated mine to help reduce temps and make it look good. Re-run (Cut open wire harness and re-route) or add some O2 extenders for the front O2 sensors.
Take your time, one day in the garage with jack stands and your done.
