LG Superpro 1 3/4 Install Help
I'm ordering my LG superpro's next week and was just wondering about doing the install myself. I don't have access to a lift and was just going to do it in the garage with jack stands. I searched but couldn't find a thread that gave detailed instructions on the installation. I have a 2005 M6. After they come I just want to do the install and then I am taking the car to ECS for a tune. Any help would be great and pictures would be awesome. Any insight from anyone that has attempted this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
I did mine on a lift, but lots of people do it on jack stands. They do go in from below, so you need to get the car up enough to angle them up. It's really prety easy. Don't forget to use never seize on your header bolts and spark plug threads.
i did mine on 3in ramps, you'll definitely want to pull your spark plugs, this gives you room to play around, i had everything go through the bottom with a friend up top to remove the last bolt/ put the first in. put wd 40 on all your slip connections to make them easy to install
i also recommend steal gaskets over the ones youll get with your headers, any autoparts store will sell you ls1 exhaust gaskets for $10
i regret not going with the 1 7/8 units, i would recommend those as well from LG
dont worry how long it takes, just enjoy the new found power. great sound and satisfaction of a job well done. Good luck
4 hours tops. Need the car up on stands around 24" high. Both headers slip from the bottom. Coil packs and plugs can stay on. Did mine with 1 friend and a couple of breaks and it took us 3 1/2 hours. Easiest header install I have ever done besides my '84 Chevy Truck.
I would let ECS install them and then do the tune. It's gonna be a PIA on jack stands but do-able. Why bother?

It is far from a PITA, if you can change your own spark plugs you can do the headers. PITA is the install I did on a Z28 LS1 which took 13 hours with 2 people. Save the money and do it your self.

Thanks for all the help. I'm not worried about how hard the install will be because I know it won't be hard on the jack stands. I was just looking for help and to see if anyone had any pointers for me. As usual the forum pulls through.
