Default Help with installing Cat-back

I replaced my headers and mid-pipe (working front to back) and only the driver side cat-back will go back on. For some reason the passanger side won't drop far enough down to align with the X-pipe. I could take a few inches off of the cat-back, but I'd prefer not to.

Should i try installing the X-pipe to the Catback and then the Xpipe to the headers?

Your input would be extremly helpful. I'm almost home and I want to hear the end result!

Thank you!

did you drop the sway bar? Dont have to take it off just drop it. Also keep the x-pipe unconnected where it hooks to the headers, this way it has some give when you put on the axel back.

Sure you have the right axleback? The passenger side changed after 2008. An '09 or later won't match to an '05 to '08 mid pipe.

The sway bar is dropped and its the stock axleback. I will try disconnecting the Xpipe from the headers, but I'm worred once i get the axlebacks connected, the headers won't go back on the X-pipe.

The headers are bolted on but they are loose.

Some things don't make sense. You have an '05, it doesn't have an X pipe, it has an H pipe. It doesn't have headers, it has cast exhaust manifolds. It sounds like you are having trouble bolting the axleback to the mid pipe but you keep using the term catback.

Maybe re-phrase your post using the correct terms? And a better explanation of what you are trying to do?

Sorry if i was unclear with my original post. Let me try again. My car now has headers and an X-pipe. For some reason i can't get my passenger side, stock exhaust connected to my new X-pipe. The driver side is snug as a bug, but the passenger side is giving me some issues.

Thank you!

again make sure all clamps and what not are not on tight yet and actually remove the x-pipe from the headers. Dont remove the headers. With the x-pipe free from the headers but still up on the hangers you can move the x-pipe back towards the front of the engine to allow room for the axel backs to get back on. Then just move everything towards the back to get the x-pipe back onto the headers. I watched my install and thats all they did and it was relatively easy. Hope this helps.

What brand headers and xpipe? The Texas speeds that I have, have small pipes at the rear of the x pipe that allow movement to for adjustment

Unfortunately, I can only connect the headers to Xpipe or Xpipe to axleback. There is no way to move my Xpipe 5 inches (either way) to complete this install.

However, i was able to connect the X to the axleback > take the bolts out of the headers > connect the headers to x > now i need to bolt the headers back to the motor.

Ufta!!!!!

Thank you for your help. I tried every possible solution, a few times. In the end I spoke out loud to god for help and it worked! If all else fails go to the big guy in the sky.
