Yah I didn't Noe the 05 was soo week I blew my diff to I got a supercharger on my vette too I would have rather jus saved my money and got a zo6 way too many probs with doing mods sucks too Cause there are no good vette shopsn in canada
I hope to be running roughly 460 RWHP by summer and I don't plan on racing the car but I'm a spirited driver. Hopefully my '05 rear end will last me years to come cause it's not in my budget to buy a new rear end...
Yah I dunt keep Ur eyes open I Noe sometimes u can find one for cheap like I got my on clist for 800 bucks but a week later another one was for sale for 600 kinda weird when they are 1200 online
After thinking it over I think my best bet is to skip the supercharger, leave the car stock and save for a Z06, that's what I was wanting to begin with. I figured by the time I spend $7,000 on a supercharger, $2,000+ on a new diff. and while it is apart a better clutch $1,000 then add in what I have in the car I would be withen $5,000 of a 2006/2007 Z06. Hopefully the diff. will last 1-2 years and if not I guess I made a bad choice.
Just be careful with hard launches.. If you feel wheel hop let off. My car was close to stock when the diff let go, and I never expected that to happen until I at least had a cam in it....

No disrespect to a Z06 but 440rwhp is pretty boring once you get used to big power of a blower car.
I'm not bored. I could easily afford more power, but I am at the limit of reasonable traction with street tires, and that's where I am staying. Of course my 4.10 gears really do help with the fun factor!
I realize there have been problems with the 05 rears. However, I am still running with the original 05 diff. housing with 81K miles so far. Hopefully this information may relieve a little stress with some who are concerned.
