Default 2005 electrical issue

I tried my best to do a search before asking and didnt have any luck. Yesterday i bought a 2005 C6 m6. The drivers seat wont move. The back lumbar works fine, just the bottom of the seat is dead. Also, the telescopic wheel, and radio doesnt work. It has NAV. It sure would be nice to be able to adjust my seat and listen to the stereo.

Its amazing how much you take the little things in life for granted.. The radio isnt SO bad but, it sure would be nice if i could reach the pedals at red lights.

I have checked all fuses under hood and passenger foot area.

Any suggestions??

As far as the seat problem make sure the wire connectors under the seat are plugged in all the way. Items on the floor can jam and disconnect them if the locks on the plugs were removed.

Does the seat happen to move without you in it?

The seat to floor connectors in the C-5 are known to get loose and start causing issues so when you checked them, you might want to recheck for loose pins/sockets. The NAV not working sure sounds like a bad fuse but you checked them. If I was you, disconnect the battery and wait for like a minute, then reconnect and see if the NAV comes to life.

Had a chance to dig into it today. The seat doesnt work, no matter what i try. The telescopic wheel doesnt work either.
I pulled the radio out and it wasnt plugged in. When i plug it in, the car freaks out. Theft light and several others come on the dash including a message saying service column lock. If the car is running when i plug the radio up, it will kill the engine and will not restart until the radio is unplugged.

Well DEALER1, I would take it to my local Chevrolet dealer and let them sort it all out.

Is this a stock NAV unit or an after-market? Did you buy it with the radio/nav not working?

The radio and NAV are the same unit. Its starting to sound like your car was pieced together from whatever sources. Now just plugging in the NAV should not cause a problem other than it won't work unless its programmed with the vin# and so on. But, adding the fact the seat isn't working, sounds like the data buss is shorted out somewhere. I don't know enough about the buss on the C-6 yet but I do know you'll need to pull codes with a CAN-I code reader or take it to a dealer and have them use a Tech 2 on it. What was the history of the car?

Have you checked the FUSES for the seats?? They would be in the passengers foot well under the toe board. Make sure that that area is DRY! If its damp/wet, that can cause issues like your expierencing. The BCM lives next to the fuse box,,

Pull the following fuses in the foot well:

Fuse 31 "AMP" 30 Amp

and the RADIO S BAND VICS Fuse 15 amp. Then connect the radio connectors and see if the cer freaks out. If not turn the car OFF and install the fuses one at a time and see what gives

2005 had a recall on the column wiring harness because of chafing (sp?). I would take it in to the dealer and have them run the VIN to see if that was done. Looks like the previous owner unplugged the radio as the only option to get it to run so he could sell it.

Is it a branded title or flood car?

Thanks for all the help, guys. None of the above fixed it. Going in shop Monday.

I do appreciate the advice though.

FYI, the SCM controls the telescoping steering wheel and seat on the C-5, therefore I'm guessing it controls the same on the C-6. Please let us know what they find but when you get to the dealer, please ask them to not just throw parts at it as you don't wish to pay for nothing. Ask if you can be there to assist in the troubleshooting.
