My underhood light is out and not working. The old bulb was cloudy, so maybe burned out? But the new LED I'm putting in didn't work either (yes, I tried both ways).
I looked in the manual, but couldn't find a fuse for it??!!
I searched and found a couple others with problems in the past, but no solutions... I checked and it IS connected (apparently GM not connecting it was once a problem). I'm pretty sure it worked before and just recently stopped working.

Any ideas or can someone tell me which fuse?
Thanks!
First thing I would check is whether you've got voltage at the lamp socket.....remove the bulb & check for 12v with a VOM. If you do have voltage, try with a regular bulb. If no voltage, check your Owners Manual....the fuse listing is there. There's also a position switch under the hoodliner (at least on '05's) that closes the circuit when the hood is lifted. Check there for continuity too.

Reason: added comment re: position switch

Thanks Dave S.
Mine's an 06, so not sure about the position switch. I have the hoodliner off and it just looks like a standard wire connection to the light.
I got no electric skills and thus no voltage meter. That's why I was hoping to ID the fuse.
I looked through the fuse tables in the manual several times and couldn't find the underhood light listed -- maybe named differently or not even listed?
Does anyone know which fuse it is???
It is an OG wire from the lamp circuit #1732 to the underhood fuse block C1 terminal connection
The first place I see a fuse in the circuit is the 10A CTSY/Lamp fuse. If your vanity lamp mirror light or the mirror courtesy lights work, the fuse is good for the "Underhood Lamp"

Not sure about the Corvette but is there a mercury bulb built into the unit? If so are you holding the unit in the right orientation to complete the circuit?
Map and visor lights work, so maybe not a fuse problem. I see the fuse is in the passenger footwell fusebox location and I just didn't get a chance to pull it to check last night.
It looks like I may have a position switch, but all looks good.
Maybe I need to replace the whole switch?
Might need to find a friend with a volt meter...
