I used ARH's and had no problems either. You can see there is plenty of space but for safety I installed shields on the wires. They were also titanium coated.

^^your headers look great^^!

American Racing Headers, I did research for 2 months and found them to have the best high flow cat on the market (that come with the system). They fit great and were recommended by many I talked with.

I have installed Kook's and liked them as well, almost went with them but decided on the AR's just to try something different.

Friend uses LG's and did not have any issues with leaks from the slip fit but I wanted the ball/flange as I new I wouldn't have any problems plus his LG's looked like they had some surface rust on the primaries.

Oh, there is no way these headers burn plug wires at least in a 1 3/4 primary anyway (have had mine on the car going on 2 years + it is my daily driver)...My C5 FLP headers destroyed plug wires every 4000 miles even with a kool sock!

Did you have either the Kooks or the ARH's coated?

The Kook's I installed on my friends GTO were not coated and looked great the 2 years he owned the car after the install, the car was his daily driver.

I did not have the American Racing headers coated I am currently running on my car and the entire system still looks great!

Thanks, I had them coated to keep a stealth (OEM) appearance in the event I was caught in one of roadside smog inspections we have here in Cali, I felt with the high flow cats I may be able to pass the sniffer but chrome headers would not pass the visual.

Anybody have reasons or thoughts why some brands X pipe crosses before the cats while others cross after the cats?
