When I took off and returned some cheapo headers I needed a set right away. It was a weekend and I found a set of ARH in stock at a local shop. Very happy with the quality and fit. I would have probably been just as happy with Kooks or LG's.
LG street series for the price and reputation. Had zero issues with fitment. The only thing I can complain is that the clamps seem to a worse design than others I have seen. The Borla clamps are much better and seal almost perfect. I have had to tighten the LG clamps 3 times and they still leak slightly.

I went with LG because customer service. I was narrowed down between ARH and LG. I got the LG's cheaper. Also almost everyone has told me the LG's make a little more HP down low. After several conversations with LG and LG owners I had no concerns about using the slip fits. I am very happy with my choice. The install was so easy. All the parts fit perfectly.
I went with Kooks for two reasons - #1 I didn't want slip fit collectors for this reason:

...and I got a set of Kooks for a screaming deal from Maryland Speed. Was going to use OBX but called Branden up first and got a price I couldn't say no to. Also, I have been told the AR headers burn the plug wires in some cases (by more than one vendor) and since they were more expensive anyways it was an easy call. I got 1-7/8" with the catted 3" x-pipe

Kooks or ARH headers are the same when it comes to plug wires! Neither is more hazardous to the plug wire than the other.
Actually thats pretty funny!
ARH; previous experience with them on my 6.2L Denali pickup. Been on for two years with no leaks, rattles or other problems. I am sure the others are fine, but had confidence in ARH. Bought them for my Vette and they fit perfect and were an easy install. I highly recommend them.

LG's because that is what HP Sales put on. I didn't know the difference and they use both LG and ARH. I guess they ordered the set that that can make the most profit on. Who knows?

Was the plug wire issue because your Kooks were coated?
OBSSSD, you were misled. I reinstalled the OE wires with ARH and they have at least 1/2 inch of clearance on every wire. Can't speak for every model header they make, but on a C6, there are no clearance issues what so ever.
Why did you choose the brand of header you installed instead of a different brand?
I have chosen theMelrose Motorsports C-6 z06 Smooth Flow Exhaust System, because it is "Engineered by the same team contracted by General Motors to produce headers for the LS-1 spec engines that went into every ASA racecar."
LG 1 3/4" because of the longer primary length that tends to produce better low end torque. I was afraid of slip fits but mine don't leak. ARH 1 7/8" frequently need a little trimming of some sheet metal, but no biggie and great headers. Probably can't go wrong with any of the big three.
