Ls3 oil capacity?

Ls3 oil capacity?
Bought some Mobil 1 oil at walmart the other night and double checking the AC oil filter number on their little filter finder screen,it had a notation for my 2008 ls3 that oil capacity with filer was 5.5 quarts, i knew from the last oil change i had installed 6 quarts per owners manual. anyways,draining oil completely(like letting the drivers side jack down to let it drain better) replace filter add 5.5 quarts,run for 1 minute and check,sure enough it was right at the full mark on the stick. anyone else notice this?

You better take the manual in for a warranty update, 'cause page 5-103 on mine clearly shows 5.5 and then 6.0 with extended oil cooler. The shop manual has identical capacities. The important thing you learned is that the dip stick is reading correctly.
