Rick,
I hate to see that you broke your motor, but it sounds like you will have a monster when you are done. I think I'm right behind you with the trans rebuild. Are you going with Century? If so I'd love to hear how that process goes. I'm not looking forward to the down time while I ship the trans off and wait for it to come back.
Sometime before I die I want to build a big CI N/A LSx motor. I'm just hoping it is at a time of my choosing, not like what you are going through.

Good luck with the build.

Thanks Mike, Yeah it's bitter sweet.... It sounds like Century is the place to go and I might as well upgrade it while I'm waiting on the motor. It should save me labor $$$
Since they warranty the tranny, I don't see how anyone could go somewhere else.
From past experience, put the header swap at the bottom of your funding list. Switching from 1 3/4 to 1 7/8" primary tubes will make very little difference in how the motor runs. Probably as little as 3-5 hp, and only above 5500RPM.

It mighrt be a little more than that on a 454 cubed motor though.. not sure...

1 3/4 headers did not hurt my car.... it hit 9s on 7 of 10 times the same afternoon. But you know Josh and he is doing your tune, I'd just get his advice.
