Default wheel adapters?

Im fixing to buy a set of Gto spares to put on the front of my z51 and I need to know where I can get some wheel adapters to make them fit. Also how big do they need to be, as in how wide. Thanks

There are lots of people that have installed 120.0mm wheels on a car designed for 120.65 mm wheels (such as the Corvette) without doing anything at all. They will bolt right on, but I believe, over time, it causes stress on the wheel lugs since there is a 0.65 misalignment. The lug nuts also are prone to loosening.

To prevent this stress on the wheel lugs, get a set of PCD Variation (Wobble) Lug Nuts. These special lug nuts have a conical washer that is capable of moving enough to elliminate any stess on the wheel lugs. The 60 degree conical surface of the nut washer will align properly with the 60 degree conical surface of the wheel, so the lug nut will mate properly with the wheel, and no stress will occur .... problem solved

PCD Variation (Wobble) Lug Nuts (TUV approved)
P/N: DV6LE
Thread Pitch: 12mm x 1.50 thread
Seat: Conical, 60 degree
Hex Head: 19mm socket

$ 100 per set of 20

BTW ... The Corvette uses a "Lug Centric" wheel.

We use lug nuts, but here is a photo of a PCD Variation (Wobble) Lug Bolt. Same principle as the PCD Variation (Wobble) Lug Nut.

You can see how the conical washer can move, which corrects for the difference between your Corvette's bolt circle of 120.65mm and your new wheel's bolt circle of 120.0mm

GTO spares need wheel adapters!!! Or you can grind away the calipers so that the wheels will spin free. I'm using three inch adapter with my GTO spares...but they are very heavy(4 1/2) pounds each. I bought them from a local corvette shop in Florida maybe $70.00 for the pair.

Ok ... I thought he was just concerned about fitting a 120.0mm bolt circle wheel on a Corvette designed for a 120.65mm bolt circle.

If you install a set of base brakes they clear the GTO spares. No adaptors needed. Save even more weight too. I have a Z51 and this is what I did. Can tell no difference in stopping.

The center bore of the GTO spares is slightly smaller than our factory wheels. I bolted mine up evenly and sheared off a think ring of aluminum from the GTO spare. Lubricate threads and nut angle before tightening. Removed with a pry bar using the wide cast slots in the back of the GTO wheels. Once off the car I then used my pneumatic sanding burr to get proper clearance.

The bolt circle is off slightly but bolted up fine without having to use the whobble nuts. Just tighten evenly all around a little at a time. The studs will apparently move the thirteen thousands (per side) difference.

Did not like all the raised letter/numbers on the GTO wheels so I ground those off and repainted. Looks much better now!

Decided to do it as Turbo6TA recommended. He may be right about stress on the lug bolts over a period of time. You are pulling them at an angle.

The sites he posted will not sell only 10 pieces. I bought 10 from Otis Inc. in Marina del Rey, California for less than $60 delivered. The nuts are not listed on their site but their email is sales@OtisIncLA.com for anyone wanting them.
