Default Getting headers this week

I'm going to get some headers this week. I know this has been beat to death but I just saw that stainless works has came out with some new design with their headers that has to do with the merge collector. I'm wondering if the new merge collector would make that big of a difference? If it doesn't then I'm just going to get one of the big 3 brands.

Thanks for any input with the new SW headers!!

Merge collectors are probably the most important part of the headers from what I understand. I have the LG super pros and really like them. I chose them because of LG's customer service and LG uses them on their race cars. Good Luck with whatever you chose

We have been using merge collectors with scavenger spikes for years. It allows the exhaust gases to flow out of the exhaust more efficiently. Without the scavenger spike the exhaust gases hit an area of turbulence when coming together at the merge.

Not sure about Kooks but I know ARH and LG's collectors have the cone inside the collectors.

@guntherwalker, so basically between the lg's and arh, they're pretty much the same thing? If that's the case I'll get whichever one I can find cheapest.

Thanks for everybody's input

We have used merge spikes in our collectors for over 15 years. We started making them by hand. Then we patented the casted spike we use today.

If I was going to buy headers again I would still go with the LG's. Some say they don't like the slipfit design but I have had 0 issues. ARH and Kooks make great headers too. I went with the cheapest ones I could find. I got a lot of help from Anthony at LG when I was trying to decide on headers so that is one reason I went with LG. The customer service was great. The headers were built very well and the fit and finish was great. The install was a snap with 0 fitment issues. I also was told by several sources that the LG's make a little (not noticeable) low end torque. Any way if you go with LG, ARH, or Kooks you will be happy.
