Default plug wires keep popping off while driving

i just installed headers and removed the plugs to avoid any chance of breaking them while doing the install. now that the car is done and tuned...the plug wires seem to be popping off intermitently??? anyone had this problem?

Make sure they "click" when you put the wires on both the spark plug and the coil.

hmmmm. You couldve damaged the wires if they keep coming off. I would make sure they snap when they go on. If you installed your own headers then I'm sure that you are probably putting the wires on the plugs correctly. Maybe there was damage to the wires?

Spray a little WD-40 in the boots then put them on. Then you'll feel the click of the metal on the plug itself a lot more distinctly. The most likely cause of this is that perhapd you didn't have them on all the way.

Did you look down in the boot to see if the ring is deformed or turned sideways? It's just odd, I don't hear much about factory wires having problems.

Might be time to buy a set I guess.

If that's the case, you may have distorted the wires when you took them off. I'd just buy a new set of GM red wires and be done with it.

I'd also put a bead of dielectric grease around the plug wire lip to the coil and plug to get a good seal.

This happened to me after I installed my headers also. On the ride home 3 popped off. I still check almost everyday to make sure they are on. Plan is to order some MSD to hopefully get rid of it.

Where do they pop of. The COIL or SPARK PLUG????? If its the coil end,, your most likely trapping air under the boot OR your not fully seating them on the tower.

To remove the trapped air, I slide a small tie wrap in the coil boot, seat the boot and then lift up on the tie wrap. That will allow any air to escape. Then just pull the tie wrap out.

BTW, a set of stock wires will be cheaper and work just fine. I have them on my car and I had the stockers on my 735RWHP Camaro and they work just fine.
