VicPerkins and I have the same issue: 08 Corvette coupe experiences a humming/vibration type sound coming from passenger side dashboard, it seems to activate at higher speeds after driving for awhile. Are there there any motor or hydraulic type components behind the passenger dash board that could cause this intermittent sound? The sound/vibration kicks in at around 55 MPH.

Reason: typos
I ended up removing the temp sensor (little electric fan motor) located behind the console next to the ignition button, you'll see the vent. My noise was a buzzing sound that drove me nuts.
Not sure if that's your problem but give it a look-
The noise/vibration isn't coming from the windsheild area. It appears to be centered behind the navigation and air vent area.
Tape the windshield. I had the exact noise and I swore it was a fan behind the vents. Once i discovered it was the cowl, I used a small amount of clear silicone sealer to hold it down. No more buzzing.
I think I've had the same cown vib issue. Haven't heard it lately, I think it stopped due to the warmer temps. The plastic cowl probably shrinks/expands with temp changes. At certain temps it rattles against base of windshield.
Airbus suggested the best fix, if your skilled with a caulk gun and don't make a mess.

I had the same issue on my 08 just 3 days before the bumper to bumper warranty expired. The cowl trim becomes deformed and lifts off the windshield causing air to enter between the glass and cowl trim. It is like blowing on the edge of a few pieces of paper, it will cause a vibration sound. Try Airbus's suggestion by taping the plastic cowl to the windshield and see if it goes away. If is does, you have solved the problem. If you are still under the warranty have GM replace it, if not replace the cowl trim yourself of apply a clear sealant between the cowl trim and windshield.

My 08 has the same issue the cowl lip at the windshield has lifted about 1/4" on the driver side as well as on the passenger side except the lip on the passenger side is split length wise along the seam about
6".
Put tape on the windshield cowl interface and test drove, no more buzz at freeway speeds.
I ordered a new cowl today $78.00, dealer wants $89.00 to install.
Any body know whats involved to diy. I'd like to put it on this weekend.
