Mike I know when you did yours (FAST 90 ) and it worked out very well
with your numbers but I would not recommend it for the average guy.
I did mine right around the same time we were discussing the Firewall
patch. I did my mods but left the porting to the PRO's. There are a couple of them out there Spinmonster, J Formatto and Tony Mamo if
he is doing them. The 102 solves all that butchering especially for us
LS2 Guys. There is about 8 -14 RW from porting the FAST 102 and for someone who gets a 102, gets it ported and a tune can see 35 RW and
with a set of long tunes with that package can see 400 rwhp in a bolton LS2 and 450+ with a proven Cam. Leon
Hey Leon, MIR track rental on 4/22....are you going to be there? Sorry for the thread hijack but want to see some numbers from that 500 rwhp machine of yours!!!
so it's difficult to say. I believe a well done port & smooth as glass FAST may pic up 10-12+ hp/tq & there are comparisons out there to verify. What I can say I went from a 377/372 rwhp/tq (LTs & VR cai, no tune) to 452rwhp/418rwtq, so I picked up 78hp/46tq. My cam is considered mild, 228/232, .598/.601, 114LSA. That said, a 50hp gain from that cam would be pretty solid if not quite high. So do the math, bare min. 25-30 peak, but what's really nice is 400 rwtq at just north of 3500 past 5500, peak at 4500, which is what get you movin' 'til hp takes over at 5250 where the hp/tq curves cross. If you look at the avg. LS2 stock w/ 6MN, there in the low 340s/330s for rwhp/rwtq, so in total I picked close to 110rwhp/90rwtq, with exceptional driveability. I understand the 102 is worth a few more, 5-7hp, over the 90-92s.
To other posters re: porting, I have know doubt there are people who can do magic w/ porting, but the fact is, the FAST intake is simple to port, & if you want to DIY, a file & sandpaper is all that's necessary. Not to say that's all I used, as it would be quite time consuming. But once, I took off the heavy areas (& that's very relative), I sat w/ several diff. grit sandpaper while watching a football game half working/half watching & by games end, every transition, edge, or imperfecton from stamping was smooth as glass.
Mike - I appreciate the information. I have a 05 that dyno'ed untuned, at 350.3 RWHP and 355.5 RWTQ. So I guess Im running a little bit above the average LS2.

You could've also just been on a slightly friendly dyno. It's hard to compare dyno numbers with any degree of true accuracy when talking about only a few horsepower.
Best to just use them as a tuning tool and a measure of your own cars changes.

I just don't think it is rocket science. The areas that need mat'l taken down are obvious, & smoothing out transitions, imperfections, stamping whatever are just as obvious as well. Then again, I laced & trued my own rims & spokes on custom HD build, which is rocket science, well not rocket science, but you certainly need to know what you doing & have an acute attention to detail & incredible patience!. I guess the same go for porting the FAST. I've always believed in KNOW YOUR LIMITATIONS, so that said, when it doubt, send it out. Lol. I've watched so many people work on cars, & for mine, I know they just take the time or pay attention to detail as much as when it's your own & you take pride in doing it yourself & doing it well.

I agree 110%...porting is not a tough thing to do if you have the tools and you take it SSSLLLOOOWWWW.
