i am running 305's (ps2's) on the rear of my coupe, what can/should i run on the front that will work best with the rears (size)....car is on stock wheels.
To maintain the factory front to rear tire diameter differential of apprx. 1" from front to rear I'd go w/ a 255/35/18 PS2. The problem is visually you will be increasing the fendor gap front & rear by 1/2". Which you may live with or could be offset by lowering the car w/ stock adjusters to get where you like the look, but this tire combo effectively reduces ground clearance roughly a 1/2". I assume you know the 305/30/19 gives up just shy of an 1" in diameter to the stock 285s. So any additional lowerering, mainly for front spoiler, may create road, driveway, speedbump, etc. issues. Personally, I went 255/40/18s & 295/35/19 which both are slightly taller & lowered max front & rear w/ cutting 1/2 the bushing which gives it a very low slung look, but really is not too low for regular driving. At least mt opinion, as I haven't siffered any ill effect or clearance issue as I am aware it's low & avoid damage by driving accordingly over speed bumpss, up driveways, etc. On the street rarely an issue. Take a look in my garage & you see pics to get a good idea of ride height & overall look of lowering.
I see most folks round here run a 265/35 or a 275/35 with a 305/30 rear. It usually depends on which size front the tire manufacture offers; depending on manufacture, they usually offer one or the other. Both seam to be OK & don't set off any active handling warnings.
Lots a threads on tires if you search.
I'm also due for new shoes & I'm going w/ 265 & 305
