Just replaced my Delco with a Duralast Gold. I went to install the Duralast and the old Delco hold down clamp doesnt' seem to grab the battery securely. The rear of the battery comes up even with the clamp very tight. The new battery doesnt' come with it's own clamp. Obviously I don't want to drive with it this way. Is there a hold down clamp that works specifically with this battery? The moron I am didn't think to ask this while I was there. Tried calling Autozone and they are probably closed.
Hmmm....don't recall anyone mentioning a special clamp for that before but who knows. I know the Optimas come with a new clamp specific to them due to the curved sides. Is it a situation where you could use something to temporarily take up some extra space the clamp isn't covering?
Is it possible that the supplier gave you the wrong size/group battery? I thought the specific battery size/group dictated the exterior dimensions. I don't recall hearing this problem come up before.

I researched this battery before I went there and the guy at Autozone also punched my specific model into the computer. There is only one that works. The dimensions seemed the same or very similiar. I'm thinking the lip on the bottom of Durlast is shaped differently than the one on the Delco. I hooked it up temporarily and the car seemed to start a little smoother and with more authority. I havent' heard anyone who went with Duralast not be satisfied
just thought I'd let you guys know that I am a knucklehead. The battery compartment is so small on a C6 that I didnt' realize that the back of the new battery was sitting on the lip of the tray and not in the tray. I simply adjusted the position, locked the rear of it in place and screwed down the locking wedge. It's not going anywhere now. Just thought some fellow knuckleheads could learn from my mistake.

What group size did you buy??? There's been quite a bit of discussion lately about various sizes that others are buying or asking questions about.
