Default YEA!!! a cracked Trans for me.

Well I got home from the gym today and put it in the garage. I took it out later and noticed a puddle of red fluid. I was like WTF. I jack it up and find that where (pardon my lack of vocab here) trans meets the rear end. right after mid pipe hanger. There is a hole. Only thing I did was pass someone aggresively...2nd and 3rd gear....

I took it to the dealer tonight so we shall see....

The vette is starting to **** me off......

From that picture it looks like a casting defect.

Well at least you were able to make it home. Most likely a casting defect and im sure it will be taken care of under warranty.

A Crack in the casing is only going to be repaired by replacing the casing. Time for a enw trans, and thank goodness for warranty.

I have an MGW shifter.....it will be interesting to hear what they have to say about that. I don't see them saying my shifter caused the failure.....

I wouldn't imagine there will be an issue for GM to replace the trans as it does look like a casting issue as stated already. Crap happens.

That sux. At least you didn't get stranded somewhere. Good luck with the dealer.
Oh, and I brightened up your pic a bit so it's easier to see the hole.

^^^Thanks

Update: Dealer said my tranny cooler lines came loose and were leaking....I asked what the hole was and they said it wasn't leaking , but they will look into it further.

I will say the dealer has been great with communicating and I am happy so far.

We shall see what the hole is next.

It looks to me the hole is where the torque tube meets the trans. There is no fluid in that part of the trans so it should not leak from there.
