I bought a set of Hoosier R6 345/35/18's for the rears of my car, and was wondering if I should have bought a set for the fronts as well.
The thought crossed my mind, so I figured I'd ask you fellas. Though after I've thought about it some more, a more standard R compound would be better just in case I get caught in the rain, right?
The Hoosier R6 is a track tire for road racing. I would not recommend an R6 tire for street use. Having matched front/rear tires is most always preferable. The Hoosier R6 tire is designed for dry conditions....it'll be 'death' in the rain or on a wet surface. Good luck.

What are you trying to accomplish? Why did you just buy the rears? The R6 is a road racing tire that has little to no tread. It works in dry or wet/damp track conditions not heavy rain. If you have lots of water on the road/track it will be like driving on ice. The R6 isn't really designed for the street and will not stand up to extended street duty.
