My 2011 Gs has about 5,000 miles. Have noticed a clunk/click in the steering at low speeds. Stopped, I can move the wheel back and forth and feel and hear a clunk. My dealer says it is "normal." Chevrolet Technical Assistance says it is "normal." Chevrolet Customer Service says it is "normal" and is part of the design of this car. Does that sound right to anyone out there? Has anyone else experienced this noise?
Did you notice it when the car was new? I doubt it. Not trying to be a dick, but I've never gone to a dealership service center and had anyone utter a single word that was even remotely truthful. I've never had the dealership fix any problem correctly the first time, and I've never had the car returned in the same or better condition I left it in.
There's no way it's normal. Since you are under warranty, you can take it to another dealer, and let them screw around with it and probably break crap in the process, and take a month to do a 3 hour job. Or you can do what most of us do now, start buying tools and reading/posting on the forums.
Our diffs tend to click at low speeds and tight turns, like in a parking lot. Lots of info on this, but it just needs to be re-lubed and driven in a few figure eights.
Now when you are stopped that points to tie rods, cv joints, or possibly a loose rack mount, but there is no way that is normal.
