Bought an 06 c6 with only 30k. Had a lifter noise...Well i thought it had a lifter noise since the car still held 19 oil psi at idle and 40+ running. Long story short after new lifters, rockers, etc i decided to tear into the dreaded c6 oil pump. I found that the pickup tube had cut the o-ring that it seats to the pump with. I installed a melling high volume pump and put the car back together. i put royal purple back in the car and a napa select filter. I started it and it ran fine with 45+ even at idle but once it got to opperating temp. my oil psi went to $h!t.....like 7-8 psi (worse then before).......Any advice is appresiated

Oil ring not seated correctly on the pick-up tube.
How are you checking the pressure? Don't rely on the oil pressure sending unit, check also with a mechanical pressure gauge. If the pressure is found to be what you said in your first post, time to take it back apart. As Mez pointed out, it could be the pickup tub o-ring again. It could also be the new oil pump pressure relief valve is stuck open.
I made sure that i used the correct 0-ring and was very careful upon installing it. Its a double sided headache to take it all back apart but i was contemplating on the relief valve. I wounder if theres anyway of releasing it?
