Tranny Internal Mode Switch
My Engine Check Light came on with code P1825 & P0700. Tranny would not shift from 4th. Dealer changed part #24242938 "Internal Mode Switch to the TCM. Just out of interest, I would like to know exactly what this switch does. Sub codes showed an intermittant open circuit that obviously caused the shift issue. Thanks!

That particular issue has come up periodically over the years. Haven't noticed any pattern or cause.......kinda just happens I guess. Anyway, here's a thread I saved from 2 years ago. It has lots of info and discussion. You're probably most interested in post #22 where Talon90 explains in lay terms what it is. Glad you got yours fixed okay.

I expereinced the same part failure today. Pulling out of the drive and shifting from reverse to drive. The shift was neck jerking to say the least. Reminded me of my old camaro with a B&M shift kit.....
I had the same codes as well. Picking up the car in the AM. $465.00 to repair included new trans fluid
