It's pretty easy - all you need to do is hook up a jumper battery (or jumper cables connected to another car) so that you have enough voltage to get it into accessory mode and once you've done that the shifter will move into any gear you want. Unlike what's required to actually get a car jump started, you don't need a ton of power to do this.
