starter problems
I had the starter off and I also had the big ground that bolts to the block rite above the starter off. I put the starter back on with the only the one wire that bolts to solenoid and the other that plugs in and then I bolted the ground wire on and ther was another wire there so I bolted it to the ground on the block .So now I started the car starts and runs fine except it says service charging system and the volts are low should that wire go to starter ?

There is only one cable to the block, that is the ground connection from the battery. The solenoid is the juncture of the alternator, battery, fuse boxes and lastly, the starter. Sounds like you grounded the alternator. Now there are also two fuseable links from the alternator and you may have cooked those in this event. Send a PM to Bill Curlee as he's got a wiring diagram for this and probably a picture or two.
