Default Steering wheel memory setting

I have a 2011 3LT. The memory settings on the seat, steering wheel, and mirrors have been working great until recently. Now, the steering wheel is not coming back sometimes. It seems random as I have not found any pattern to when it works and when it doesn't. Sometimes it won't move at all, other times it only comes back a little. And then sometimes it comes back all the way. I'm able to adjust it back with the **** on the column every time. And, if I move it a little bit with the **** and press the memory button again, it comes back all the way to where I have it set.

I've tried re-saving my settings and it still does it. I'm under warranty, but I don't want to go in and have them not replace something and charge me a few hundred dollars for labor if it's not a bad part...does GM do that? Nissan did it to me on a 350Z when a fuel line popped off the fuel tank. They charged me a bunch of money to fix it since no part failed. I guess fuel lines popping off is a standard feature on Nissans.

Something need to be reset or adjusted? Any ideas?

Of course make sure the wires to the steering are secure. As I recall there is a bundle under there that might be stretched too tight.
Sometimes these electrical gremlins go away by rebooting the car. Disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and see if that works. I think you have to reset the windows indexing after that.

Disconnecting the battery for a few minutes seems to have helped lots of folks here with electrical gremlins.

Hopefully, the only thing you'll have to reset is the window indexing as indicated previously, and maybe the clock.

Here are the instructions for resetting the window indexing if you don't already have them memorized. You'll need to do it for both windows.

Close the car door. Raise the window and hold the up switch an extra 3 seconds. Release. Without lowering the window, hold the up switch again for 3 seconds. Release. Done.

Check the wiring connection UNDER the driver's seat.
Could be a new seat module is required.
You are on warranty with a 2011 so no cost to you.
Don't forget your loaner car.

Chevy dealership service experiences and competence is sadly a debated subject on this forum.

My 2005 has done that since new. I've found if I push the button firmly and hold it for a second it works fine. Good luck.
