Default Supercharger info

Hello, I am new here.. This is my first thread.. I currently have a mustang, but it's about to be out the door.. I had considered a 03/04 terminator/cobra but am also looking in the direction of a corvette.. I have a couple questions since I have no knowledge of Corvettes or their spec numbers.. 1. Is the C6 much faster then the C5? 2. If I had a C6 and wanted to put a supercharger on it, what type of HP can the stock motor handle? I know on my current mustang GT the block wont handle over 420ish... So just curious wut kind of HP you can get out of the factory C6 motor stock with a supercharger, before ud have to go inside it.. 3. What are the HP differences in the C6 and C5 stock? Thanks... Im sure these questions might sound noobish.. but im new to chevy period.. Ive known nothing but Ford.. lol So bare with me please.

525-575rwhp is pretty common with the stock block LS3 C6. Stroll over to the FI Forum and browse.

Depends on what year and model C5 and C6. The standard C5 LS1 is about 350hp, the C5 LS6 Z06 was at 385 and was later updated to 405hp. The C6s came out with 400hp LS2 engines, then came the LS7 Z06 at 505hp, in 2008 the LS3 came out with 430hp, then then LS9 powered ZR1 became the new King at 640hp leaving the LS7 Z06 at 505hp.

I have several LS3 based Vortec supercharged C6s making in excess of 600hp. Many LS1 based C5s making high 500hp numbers without any issues, these were stock bottom end cars. Then I have a few blown LS7 Z06s make much much more than that. The LS based engines can handle a lot of power, but those engines had extensive internal mods done.

I know of one twin turbo charged C5 Z06 that made 700+ to the wheels on a stock bottom end. This car was drag raced for three years and was street driven as well. The only mods was the TTiX turbo kit, the car ran low 10s for all that time and lasted until recently when it decided to scatter its engine internals all over the insides of the block. When it happened it was being driven down the highway at just cruising speeds. But hey the owner got three years of high speed fun out of it until it died.

Its all about duty cycle, you abuse anything long enough and eventually it will break, and that can happen on a bone stock car without any mods.
