It's the 4th what better way to celebrate the USA than to work on an American car. The only problem is PAFDT is close and I am having trouble tighting down the top bolt to 75lb. The shaft turns and when I use a crows foot with a socket on the middle shaft it lossens the shock adjustment area. Looking for a tip from the corvette family.
Try letting the car down so that the load is on the coilovers. I am assuming that you are installing coilovers. I had the same problem and that is what I did.

Thanks will try. Yes doing coilovers. What did you do in the back, did you cut wholes in the floor for access? That is not an option for me. I have a stereo over that area.
I think he wants the notches on the shock stiffness settings. I used what Pfadt recommended.
Also, based on the pictures, sis you polish the suspension pieces?
Yes they are polished, just because I can and It only takes a few beers per corner. The car is a daily driver with 40k + miles so they will not stay that way. Just entertainment for me. As far as a torque wrench, been using one for 35 years.
Hey guys. As has been touched on earlier in the thread, the upper nut torque spec is 75 INCH pounds. Be sure not to overtorque that nut, as shaft damage will occur if the nut is severely over tightened. There is Loctite provided in the kit to lock the nut into place without the need for large torque figures.
The car is looking good Smooth72! I'm sure your going to love it when it all comes together.
