Gering, if you do some homework and search this and other forums, you will probably find that for stock (or near stock - up to and including normal bolt-ons) cars, the AC Delco plugs will be more than adequate. If you ever decide to go FI or H/C, it is definately worth considering a colder plug, such as the TR6. The major benefit this will offer is to allow more timing in the tune and/or prevent knock during WOT runs. If you simply switched to a colder plug, a tune would not be necessary unless it came with additional mods.

hope this helps.
Thanks for your comment. I do have a mild H/C and do not have any problems at this time. I also had a tune done a few months ago with the current spark plugs, that is why I was just wondering if maybe a small tweek in the tune may be need if I change to a different type of spark plug.

It's not worth just a plug change. Wait til you do more mods first.
If you tune yourself, you can give it a shot. Otherwise, I would wait
Don't have the LS3 info,[ i'm running an LS2 ], For comparison, the stock LS2 wot timing averages around 22 degrees. [ it will vary as the pcm has control of this ] . With the stock plugs, I could not advance without getting K / R . With a copper plug, one range colder, I can run 23.5 to 24 degrees without K/R. Many things affect the timing / K/R relationship . Each engine should be evaluated individually. Generally speaking though, many tuners have observed this.
