brake advice needed.
I'm needing some advice on choosing brakes for my 69 amc amx budget project.
It will be getting a art Morrison front sub frame with c5 c6 suspension with coilovers. Ls engine, I'm hoping to make close to 500whp. The car should weight around 3000 pounds when complete.
The car will mostly be used on the street, I would like to do some track events and autocrosse events also. There is only a few auto cross events a year that happen in my area. Yeah Mississippi sucks. So racing will be very limited.
Is there a huge difference in stopping between the z06 and z51 brakes? Would the base c6 brakes be good enough for my needs? MY plans were to use z06 brakes but there is a big difference in cost between them and base model. Having to run 18 inch wheels and tires is another cost factor .

I would do Wilwoods. A friend of mine is doing a similar AMX project and put Wilwoods on and id very happy with the results. He thrashes the car and has had zero brake issues.
