Why is this forum TECH/PERFORMANCE

I was wondering why this forum is any different then the GENERAL DISCUSSION forum. I see the very same non-TECH/PERFORMANCE information/questions being posted here as I do in the GENERAL DISCUSSION forum.

Things just kind of got co-mingled over the years. Tech still seems to be mostly the hardcore folks but everybody pretty much has the same help info to share.
