A while back we posted some test results from a couple of ported LS3 intake manifolds and the FAST LSXR 102mm LS3 intake. (http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...manifolds.html) The ported intakes made 0hp. After a bit of controversy, I offered free ported intake manifold testing to any company that wanted to step up. Bare Essentials Racing was the only company that submitted a manifold. Yesterday we conducted the A-B test and found that the intake picked up 7hp and 5 ft-lbs.
Baseline C2-9434 519hp/465tq
BER ported intake C2-9437 526hp/470tq
Glad this went through and the results got posted.
The FAST LSXR 102mm made 8hp/7ft-lbs it looks like based on your previous thread, so the BER intake making 7hp/5ft-lbs is very close if not equal given different days/conditions.

Jason,
We really appreciate you testing our manifold and reporting independent test results. We think our work is well thought out and we try to do what works rather than what sounds and looks good in pics and on paper. Have a great weekend
And even then it should probably be saved as one of the last mods. It's not a very good $ to hp ratio...especially considering these are crank numbers on a decently modded motor.

Good of you to take the time to test this and post the results. (also good of BER to step up and submit for the test knowing the results would be posted good or bad.)

Does this ported intake have the internal bracing posts removed?
I bought an LS2 ported intake from BER, Cajun was a real pleasure doing business with. He didn't charge me an insane amount for shipping like some vendors do, emails with questions were answered within minutes.

Nice to see a company step up and take Jason up on his offer. It's a crying shame that nobody else took him up on that. I thinks it says a lot for what companies "actually" think of their own products if they're afraid of what the results will show.

Jason, is that through the stock LS3 airbox or the Halltech Super Bee MF103?
Finally, some nice results! Congrats BER Katech dynos are like gold. You can take their dynos to the bank.
