The airbag light on my 07 comes on intermittently and not all scan tools can read airbag codes. I was thinking of purchasing a bluetooth ODB II interface and the Android Torque app. The app is only a few bucks but the bluetooth ODB interface is going to run $100 to $200 depending on which one I buy. Anyone have any experience with this app and will it read airbag codes on a Corvette? Should I just buy a really good scan tool instead?
I've been using it recently. Get the PLX adapter. I bought and returned an elm327 because it worked when it wanted to. The PLX device works absolutely flawlessy (it's the adapter the dev uses, your best bet).
However I don't know if it will tell you why your airbag light is coming on to be honest.
I recently purchased Torque and a PLX Kiwi. Works great. Spent $4.95 at Droid app store and $94 on ebay for the PLX Kiwi. I am very pleased with the result.
I noticed many cars on you tube do not communicate with all the factor sensors. Does the application read boost pressure, air fuel, intake air temp, and fuel pressure off c6 computer ?

Play with the wires under the drivers seat and see if it stops. I had the same issue and I stopped
my seat from going full back to exit and the problem has been gone for over a year. I noticed that if I moved around in the seat when the light goes on it would go off. Do a search the wire for the airbag is accessible when the seat is full forward ant tillted up. I think the warranty for airbag and safety devises is longer than your 3 year warranty. Sory for hijacking.

Thanks for the info. The light still comes on sometimes when I first start the car but sometimes goes off after driving a while. I will check the cable this afternoon.

That's exactly what mine did. I would lean forward and it would go off. You can also do a search
and you will get pictures. If its like mine and many others you will find the wires twisted with no slack. Loosen up and it should stop.

I had to do this too. I'll bet this is your problem too. Could be the passenger seat also. Try pushing the seats all the way forward and unhooking and re-hooking the air bag connectors. You won't hurt anything trying and I bet it works.
Last time I tried it (6 mo ago), the Torque app would only communicate with the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). As I recall, the airbag is managed by the Body Control Module (BCM), so I doubt that Torque (regardless of which OBD adapter you get) will help much with airbag diagnostics.
I have the Torque App on my HTC Rezound and use the OBDLink MX. It has very fast update speed (instant). I've always been able to read any DIC codes and clear them using this app. I'm not familiar with airbag codes and if they are PCM or BCM related. Since its a safety related issue, I believe that is covered for the life of the car like seat belts.
