Well you can do a bigger cam, heads or nitrous then.

That's about it.

Depends on whether you go the heads and bigger cam route, look into picking up a halltech 103mm CAI with a NW TB and a fast manifold. 4.10s are never a bad choice either. You won't get more "power" necessarily, but it'll wake up the car.

FAST isn't worth much at all on the LS3. Katech showed only 8hp on an engine dyno.

Ported stocker from Bare Essentials Racing did 7hp for $600 less.

Very true. I cant remember though, was that 8 peak hp, or avg? Either way, depending on if you care about aesthetics, you can go for the Fast... It's pretty.

It was 8 peak, but it didn't shine under the curve either.

The FAST is pretty though...but that's a lot of money for "pretty"

In rough order of cost:
Ported Manifold
bigger cam
Methanol injection
headwork/thinner head gasket
aftermarket heads
stroker kit

You talking about porting the tb and intake foe 7hp gain?

Also I was wondering about changing my tires. Want to go with biggest I can on my stock rims. I was thinking 305/30/19 but I didn't find many options on that tire size.

RE-11 is the best tire in that size and basically is the best street tire period.

There is also the Ventus R-S3 which is supposed to be pretty good. I had the Ventus V12s and really liked them, but the R-S3 is supposed to be a lot better for dry performance.

I have the v12 evo's on my car right now in the stock sizes. My dry traction with stock hp is terrible. I bought the car with them installed and only about 6/32 left, still have trouble hooking in 1,2, and even 3 sometimes.

Floyd: I've been following the MT ETII thread as you have, and I thought THAT tire was the best for dry traction?

Bridgestone makes the RE-11 (up to 305)
Khumo makes the XS (up to 345)
Nitto makes the NT05 (up to 335)

Those are the three street tires I would be looking at for good dry performance.

Right, the V12 isn't a max effort street tire, but I ran 305s on my car and 275s on my XLR-V and both tires did what I asked of them reasonably well and cut 1.8 60's easily. You can't just mash the gas and expect a normal street tire to hook up and go; you have to throttle it a bit for maximum acceleration. It's a VERY good tire that lapped better than the PS2 on tire rack test cars and annihilated the forum favorite Nitto Invo. (I've personally run PS2's in the same size and preferred the V12)

The ET Street II is not a street tire; while it is DOT legal it is a drag radial. The best STREET tire right now is the Michellin Pilot Sport Cup, but even that is a borderline race tire. With only 80 tread rating and VERY low tread depth I doubt you'd get much more than 5-6k miles out of it, but it is technically a street tire.

The RE-11 and Khumo XS are the two best street tires out right now, in my opinion. I run a 345/30/19 Khumo XS now on the back and have no problems in 1st gear. It's a fantastic street tire, but with only a 180 tread rating it won't be a long duration tire
