Exhaust Fitting: This is what I get...
I decided to go with a 3" Z06 Axle Back from Stainless Works, and mate it up to my stock set-up on my 2008 C6. I know I want to go full 3" when I finally do headers and mid-pipe, slated for the spring from the guys at Vette Doctors in Amityville (I've heard great things).
I tore off the stock set-up, and went to mate up the 3" when I find that its about 3" LONGER than the stock axle back set-up. I know that SW makes everything custom to mate up with their own stuff, and really dont want to hack the pipe up... BUT... from here, what are my options, short of going with a full header/x-pipe package?
What are your experiences? Am I safe taking an inch off the axle back and be closer to something that resembles what the rest of the market comes with? Does the Z06 have a shorter HPipe stock?
I know, this is what I get for shade tree mechanic work on mix and match packages!
