Default cause for concern?

Hopefully I dont come across as a nut case but as I was leaving work and heading to the car, I noticed that both my windows were rolled down! I know that they were up as I went to my car twice today and I know that the windows were up. My windshield sunshield was still in place. Any key fob tricks that would roll down the windows? I was under the belief that nothing could be done unless the key fob is withing 10 feet of the car? I park the car at the back of the lot under tree. Nothing was missing from the car. What's your thoughts?

Only thing that comes to mind is maybe a Window Valet issue. Do you have the Valet installed? Anyway, check this thread if you do.

someone can put a radio receiver close by you and a transmitter by your car and it will trick the car into thinking that your fob is next to the car... but i doubt anyone would go through all the trouble.

I am going with "lex parsimoniae"

i.e. you drove the car and forgot to roll up the windows. I can't imagine someone going thru all the hassle of getting your windows to roll down and not taking anything.

Most interesting...never heard of that. Did you roll the windows down a crack for heat release, maybe the auto down took them all the way?

Also just saw this thread today:

and I really hope this is the case. But I went out to the car on 2 different occasions, I hoped that I would have noticed the windows down at least one of those times.

Your battery is dying. I thought the same thing when it happen to. Replace the battery and the problem when away. Good luck

All the way down or just a bit? If just a little, you just might need to reindex the window feature.

I don't know about the window issue, but the fob will function at least 50 feet away except for auto-unlock (passive). Until I modded my fob, I was setting off the horn or popping the hatch while in my office or inside the house by just leaning against something with the fob in my pocket.

I would check this, as batteries tend to cause strange ailments on their way out.

Is it a vert? Perhaps the auto window drop (when you release the top latch) is malfunctioning or it wasn't latched tight and the sun expanded things and the car thought it was released and dropped the windows...just saqying...

didnt think of that one, good possibility, the battery thing is plausible as well.

would that happen with the car off and the FOB not near the car?
