I did a lot of research and couldn't find anyone with my particular issue...
My clutch works fine for every day driving and i have no issues but when i get on it and shift at redline the clutch doesn't come up all the way, only about 4 inches off the floor.. I can still depress it and disengage the clutch but to get it to return to normal position i have to bring it to the top with my foot and pump it a few times.. again this only happens during high rpm shifting...
any suggestions?
ps.. yes i change my clutch fluid about once a month or so..
Hmmm, bolt-on power the LS7 clutch should hold. It sounds to me like it is slipping though and creating heat that isn't allowing the diaphragm springs to return. Not sure of the mileage or condition of clutch as fluid could be causing this from a leaking seal in the hydraulics or rear main from sitting for so long. Then again I've seen a warped steel insert on a fidanza flywheel a few times that could be causing it to not get full clamping force. I'd look it over for any possible leaks first and don't see how the master would be causing this as it only disengages the clutch and you don't seem to have a problem under normal driving.

It doesn't feel as if the clutch is slipping though... i looked over the hydraulic system and even used a little snap on wire camera (like the kind on the end of a flexible metal rod) to look all around and there were no leaks... I am really just perplexed by the whole thing.. maybe the pressure plate is toast? I bought it from a forum member with about 2k miles on it and all seemed fine before i installed it.
Any opinions or thoughts on the cause would be excellent so i can continue trouble shooting it..
The heat from that much of an RPM drop heats the springs in the pressure plate. The pedal comes back up after the springs cool for a few seconds.
Mine did the same thing with bolt-on power. The LS7 clutch is a great fix. If the car has low miles, you can reuse the stock flywheel but definitelt get the assembly balanced from a machine shop when you install it old or new flywheel.

Try taking out the pedal spring and see if that cures it.
Mine used to do this after I put in my cam (over 3 years ago) and I took out the spring at that time and it's been fine ever since. I have 55000 daily driving miles and 445 launches on the stock clutch at this point.

It's free to try.
I'll go try it today... I'm also going to try to change my clutch fluid again with new stuff..

It has an ls7 clutch.. I don't even have to really heat it up.. I can go outside start it and rip down the (closed course) through first and the pedal will stick about half way after going into second..
I guess if all else fails I will have to get a new clutch??? But that kinda sucks because I just put a new one in it..
Really guys thanks for all the help... Imma go try a few things and see how it goes..
Even with the clutch spring out my clutch will feel a little stiff after a drag strip run. But after 3-4 pumps on the return road, it's perfect again. I have hot lapped it up to three times many times.
And I launch from 5000-6000 rpm.
Try the spring and report back. There's a how to remove it here.
I replaced mine and it solved 95% of the problem. I really have to abuse the factory ls2 unit for it to stick down. did you get the remote bleeder when you swapped the ls7 clutch?
