Default 05 LS2 Cam Choice??

I am needing some help figuring out which cam I should go with in my car. I have Corsa bolt on mufflers, MSD ignition and wires, and a breathless intake. I am wanting to remove the catalytic converters as well as installing a cam in my car. It is a daily driver, so not wanting anything crazy, just something to add a little power and a "good lobe" to the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

Get headers first and then look to a cam around 228/232 duration with under .600 lift and 113-114ish LSA.

gotta admit i love the LG street headers in the wifes 05
nice roar to the car now, power improvement, and great fit
just didn't like all the couplings (off road kit)
but would certainly enhance the addition of a cam for sure
i may look at one if we dont go supercharger

Headers first is a good idea. A cam without headers is like peanut butter without jelly...

I have Spin's 230/234 114+2 cam and I'm very happy with its driving characteristics. Enough lope to tell your neighbors the car isnt stock and no big surging problems at low rpm. Run a search on this forum and possible youtube to get an idea of what cams are putting down on the dyno and how they sound at idle and WOT.

thanks for the input guys, what about just eliminating the catalytic converters instead of doing the headers? bad idea? i plan on doing the cam and removing the c.c. the same day i get it dyno tuned or would it be significantly better to do headers?

Default Cam & mods 452rwhp/418rwtq

'05 Z51 LS2 6MN mods:

228/232 114 LSA .598/.601 custom ground cam
LT headers, hi-flow cats, 3" X & mids to NPPs
Ported FAST
160 stat
u/d pulley
Vararam cai
tuned by Carolina Auto Masters

Great hp/driveable combo, orig. owner from '05, mods in early '06, no probs, car still runs stealth w/ NPPs closed & scalded skunk open. Rock solid combo, been very happy w/ & would rec. to anyone. I have heard very positive things re: Spin's cam as well.

Do headers & hi-flo cats (first), & not enuf gain for pain runnin' catless car. Absoutley do not do the above.

Yes, it's that much better to run headers.

I disagree. It's very worth running a catless car. Been doing it for 4 years and wouldn't change anything about it. More power, more sound and 300 bucks saved
