I'm not sure how you'd answer that. "Better" is hard to quantify in something as basic as the shifter box. And I don't think that it's ever been clearly stated what (if anything other than the part number) was changed. If I remember correctly the 3572 box came into play with the 2008 model year when GM made all the shifter boxes the same part for all the Corvettes (including Zr1.)
So, just what's different - if anything - is a good question. Depending upon your mileage, replacing your original might be a good idea just because of the wear and tear on the shaft bushings. They're cheap enough and easy enough to install if you're handy at all. It even comes with a new shifter as well
My stock box will buzz when you are hard on the throttle in 2nd gear if you dont take your hand off the shifter before going into third. It's not shift **** rattle either, sounds like an after market cheap shifter. Only have 11,000 miles on my car.
What happened to the Z06 using solid bushing to mount to the TQ tube vs rubber bushings on the base cars? Pretty sure there different boxes. Id like the part numbers as well as ive been trying to find them....
There have been a *lot* of theories about just what's happening on the cars to cause the rattles and buzzing. The stories of causes and cures have been all over the map for years.
My Z06 had a serious rattle under full throttle in 2nd and 3rd straight from the factory. Not with my hand on it, either. It was far worse before the car warmed all the way up but it was always there. I put an MGW shifter in it and it was pretty much the same. Then, at the suggestion of George at MGW, I replaced the Z06 shifter box with the base C6 box and all was cured. 100% cured. Not one rattle since that day. Others have had the reverse happen
What I found interesting at the time (and still do) is that if going to the OLD base C6 box was the cure then why the need for a whole new part number in 2008? Why not just use the existing part? My guess was/is that the same problem was in the base box, too - just not as apparent as in the Z06 - and that all the issues were addressed in a new box design (probably just some minor clearance adjustments) which was then used in all the models from that point forward. Only GM knows for sure and they haven't said anything about it that I'm aware of.
As I said, it's cheap enough and easy enough to swap out the box for the newer one and see if it solves the problem. It's very unlikely that you'll make things worse and quite probable it will be improved or cured altogether. Only you can say how important the issue is to you and if it warrants the expense and the effort. (At this point I could do the entire replacement job in about an hour. )

You can't order the old Z06 box any more (so I've been told.) I have mine but it's staying right here
I have 30k miles on my rubber bushing box and they are still just fine. I can't imagine how you'd wear them out "too **** fast."
That's not the old Z06 part number. You can't get that any more. That's the 2008+ box.

I just read on the web that the newer part # 25823572 besides having the rubber bushings also has some additional anti vibration bushings that were added to the bottom of the shift handle.
My wifes 2010 has the rubber bushings and it sucks, they need to go. I replaced them at 8K miles. If someone has a Z box and wants to trade, im willing.

I'm going to replace my shifter box soon so it will be interesting to compare it to my current one and my original Z06 box.
