Default more horsepower

I just bought my 2006 vette about a week ago, it is completely stock. I want to get it to 500 rwhp, any suggestions? thank-you.

Easiest way is to add a blower, with that you will retain stock like drivability. Basically a bolt on job with any kit you may choose and would hit 500 pretty easy on a conservative tune.

I agree.

Save up 6k and get centrifugal blower installed and tuned and never look back.

If I had it to do over again that's what I'd do

You'll also need another 1k at the same time for rear tires. I'd suggest Bridgestone RE-11's, Khumo XS, or if you're really serious about traction, the 305/35/19 Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials. Without tires any additional power over stock is just useless in 1st and 2nd gear.

Why 500?

What are you planning on doing with the car?

That's a lot more than stock, ha ha.

Stock you're making about 340rwhp.

I dyno'ed 346 rwhp stock with the MZ6 transmission. You'll hit 500 rwhp for a lot less money if you go the forced induction route.

I'll concur with the centrifugal blower route.....you'll crack 500 easily.

500+ is a great number, I did via N/A initially and it's a blast. Someone posted getting stickier tires on the rear - and if you go 500+ that's good advice if you plan on pushing the gas pedal down much.

500 rwhp can be had N/A for $5k. I agree that a blower will make more power (for more money though), but staying N/A will give you many engine parts that are stronger in the process like pushrods, headers, rocker trunion upgrade, cam to suit specific driving style, ARP bolts, and maybe even upgraded clutch.

Either way you will be happy with 500 rwhp. Save up for tires...
