Passenger side door won't close?

Passenger side door won't close?
I have a 2005 Z51 and my passenger side door will not close. I have tried all combinations of pulling the fuses and disconnecting the battery.
When the battery is disconnected and I shut the door, my drivers door will shut/latch shut and can be released via the emergency pull handle. The passengers side still will not latch at all.
Anybody have any idea what might be going on? It seems to be a mechanical issue and not electrical.

I have tried it up, down and everywhere in between. I ended up taking the latch assembly out and it appears something is wrong with it internally as it won't latch at all.

Just happened to me last Wednesday after loading the car in preparation for a 300 mile Thanksgiving visit. Tried everything---after disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds and reconnecting it, the passenger door has worked the last 20 or 30 times. I, too, am curious if anyone has info to share.
