Do you have your maf screen out? If not I'd take it out.

Also try running without a filter for a run and see what you get after you take out the screen.

I don't think these will add that much but worth trying.

Do you scan transmission slippage? You should and let's see what that is.

I was there as well (in my black Camaro Z28), I was pitted with Rob (in that Corvette C5 Pace Car) who went on to win the LSx Rumble overall championship.

Congrats on the new best.

joe, yes I log tcc slippage but as mike norris and myself think that the number is a calculated number that is the difference between engine rpm and rear wheel speed measured from the diff. I wouldnt\couldnt tell you if its the trans slipping in third gear or the converter slipping. I have about 800rpm tcc slippage on my logs. Even with stock converter it didnt mph with 100ish rpm

ls1 I stopped by a trailer with an pace car vette. It was parked at a corner spot but the owner wasnt there.

That was us, we were pitted right alongside the staging lanes on a corner/pointed piece grass sort of across from where LMR's black Trans Am was pitted and not too far from Lingenfelter and RPM Transmissions. I remember someone even walked up and asked if it was me that owned that car as I was sitting right there.

that was me that asked if it was your car and you said no he will be back shortly...lol

I still have the maf screen in. I am really beginning to think the issue might be drag related do to the tire wear. I put a buddies gto spares on the front wedns. night with brand new m&h racing tires and they are scrubbed pretty good on the inside. My mph was lower with those tires on the car than it has been in a while. They are much sticker than the runcraps that I always have on. If Im right they may have slowed me even more than the wider stockers because they had more grip. I still want to see if I can bring my MAP readings up too

I was going to ask if you had tried running skinnies, but sounds like you already have and went slower if I'm understanding you correctly?

I keep hearing about this Maf screen, where is it and do you gain anything by removing it. Is this what they say gets covered with oil from your airfilter?

Pre,
I have been running the stockers until this wedns. thats when I saw how bald my fronts were. When I ran 2 days ago my mph was 122.2-122.48 on 4 runs with skinnies. With the stockers it has been 123-124. my stockers weighed exactly 48 each and the skinnies weighed 25 each... So even with almost 50 lbs gone I trapped lower....But......if it is indeed scrubbing speed off then the stickier m&h race tires might have shown the lower trap this week

More has been written on that topic that almost anything else..perhaps excepting the z51 badges.

My opinion is it only matters when you go north of 450 rwhp and then it is worth a couple of HP. You should also remove it before your tune as your tuner will scale your maf as part of the tune and taking out the screen can change the scaling. You might not notice it unless you're scanning....... but it's possible it could change your drivability without having the maf rescaled.

I am at 550RWHP and some change. So this is something my tuner shop needs to do for me, correct?

I wouldn't bother unless you're going in for more changes and re-tune.

At your power level traction is the issue, not more horsepower. You won't feel 5 or even 10 rwhp at that level on the track or street.

I kind of figured it was you after you posted that you had stopped by the trailer/Pace Car, it really is such a small world LOL.

double check the back tire height, if not equal that will rob mph

E85 I will be out there if it doesn't rain.... so far looks pretty bad for wedns. We and definitely run each other.

Dennis what do you mean rear tire height? side to side? In my hp tuners? What would it do? apply brakes?

So far word is that I had about 1 degree more neg. camber than I wanted but just slightly more toe out than I wanted. I was hoping it had a crapload of toe out to scrub mph.

i have seen different tire height read 30 rwhp on the dyno, if the rear tires are different heights, the differential has to work harder adjusting the spiders and limited slip clutches in and out, also the car can be torquing to the left or right because of it, and you are adjusting the steering wheel every so slightly bringing in the power steering robbing mph, just check
