So I've looked and looked and the only guides I could really find was the one on ls1howto for a C5 and I haven't really found any good guide for removing heads on a C6. So I started tearing the car apart last week and got ready to remove the heads last night. Got all the bolts removed on the drivers side head and realized there is this stupid bracket that the alternator is attached too. Well that bracket has to come off, and the only way I can see to do that is to remove the power steering pulley, because the bolt is directly behind the pulley. And the only way to remove the pulley is to remove the ABS module thats directly in front of it. Is this REALLY how to remove the freaking head? Seems pretty crazy. Below is a picture of what I'm talking about. If I have to move the ABS module, is it just a matter of removing the brake lines off the unit?
Am I doing it right?

And I assume that means taking off the power steering pulley? How can I relocate the ABS unit without taking the lines off? I'm totally stuck until I figure this out
Thanks for the info but I can't make out anything from that.
I can't tell how to remove that bolt that's behind the pulley.
Like they said,, the p/s pulley stays on. You must remove the 4 bolts holding the bracket to the head but the bolt behind the pulley remains there. In other words prepare for a tedious turn by turn until the bolt backs out. Remember to back out all the bolts equally. The p/s reservoir is moved out of the way. Just back off the hose clamp and slide it to the side. The ABS lines are kept intact. If you must get clearance, you can remove the ABS from the bracket by loosening the 2 bracket nuts w/washers.
Be sure all your head block holes are clean and dry before you assemble back together.
