Hello everyone, i have a quick question please. I have been reading about the updates to make the tranny shift a little firmer and faster on 2008's. I have a 2006 A6.
I found this website in one of the threads I was reading (http://tis2web.service.gm.com/tis2web) is says there is a update for my car. I called GM and my local dealers and they say "there is NO updates for my VIN#"
So, can anyone provide any help on this matter? I'm so confused :-)

Is there a TCM update for the 2006 A6 or not?
respectfully,

Hello. I am eployed as a service advisor for a GM dealership. To my understanding there is no service update
I will continue to search and see if I can find anything. But GM does not usually provide updates for vehicles unless it to resolve a issue. Like the 2010-2011 camaros have a BCM update for the air conditioning freezing up. But I will keep you posted if I can find anything out. One other off the subject question. Your user name what does it stand for?
can any of the hand held programers make the tranny shift faster and firmer to the extent that "you can feel the difference" I don't wanna spend 500.00 bucks on a programer that i will not make that much improvments.
there are about 4-5 hand helds and thay all say they can increase but, can you feel a difference.
so many choices, I only have a stock 2006 A6 but would like to improve the shifting, the auto tranny need a jolt of jucie.
We had a 2006 A6 also, occasionally it would hunt a little when I hit the power for passing. I took it into the dealer around the Fall of 2008, they said they either loaded an updated program or reloaded the original one, can't remember which. Worked better (but not perfectly) after that. We later sold the car.
Now we have a 2009 A6. Just before going out of waarranty, I had the dealership check if there were any new engine or transmission programs. They said it had the original 2009 program and there were no updates.
Ok, I got some comformation form my dealership today. There is NO re-flash updates for my 2006 for anything. He assured me that there are none.
I showed the service manager this website http://tis2web.service.gm.com/tis2web, where you put in you're VIN and is shows any updates. (this website says they are updates for my car) After him doing some resarch he said this infomation is not valid at all.
Im so confused again because it appears to be the GM website, so how can the info be wrong? If anyone has a 2006 A6 you can go to http://tis2web.service.gm.com/tis2web, put in you VIN and select Transmission, then selsect, TCM you will see updates with numbers and all, but my dealship says NONE of the part or cvs numbers are valid. and there is no TCM update
Makes no sence to me, a GM website with incorrect information?????
